Validation of viewstate MAC failed.

Question : Getting this error, "Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster."

Solution :
In your web.config file, you will find this line.

Just replace this line with below line and all your problem solved.

Change ConnectionString when database server is not working

Hello Friends,

Sometime, you might have notice that, your hosting server is working fine but your database is not working due to which you
might be getting error on website and you might be loosing visitor and ranking in website..

This post is regarding that only, you can manage this issue by two database.

You can have two database at different server and you can call this in global.asax

first you can make ping to first database everytime and if its working you can call first server database and
if you find any issue or server is not working then you can switch to second server using below code..

SQL Server Query to Search Text in Stored Procedure

Procedure Or Triggers,

Here is the query..


Use TempDatabase

SELECT ROUTINE_NAME, ROUTINE_DEFINITION 
FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.ROUTINES 
WHERE ROUTINE_DEFINITION LIKE '%proc_%' 
AND ROUTINE_TYPE='PROCEDURE'

Frist Select the Database by Use prefix,like below
use TempDatabase

Then copy this query in your query browser of SQL server,

SELECT ROUTINE_NAME, ROUTINE_DEFINITION
FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.ROUTINES
WHERE ROUTINE_DEFINITION LIKE '%proc_%'
AND ROUTINE_TYPE='PROCEDURE'
and just press F5, to run this query

1) Define some facts about Temporary table and there types
ans: Temporary table name is limited t 116 characters. Local temporary table created with single # and then name of table.
And this table is to be deleted explicitly and if it is created in store procedure it will be dropped at the end of store procedure.
On the other hand if are talking abut Global variable tables start with ## and these are dropped on the session ends.
And some more facts about the Temporary tables is that these cannot be partitioned and we c
annot create key constraints to these tables and one more thing is that we cannot create user-defined data types in tempdb.

2) What are the different index configurations a table can have
ans: (1)No indexes
(2)A clustered index
(3)A clustered index and many nonclustered indexes

3)What do you mean by KEYSET Cursor
ans: KEYSET Cursor uses the set of keys that are primary key or we can saw uniquely identify the cursor's rows.
SQL Server uses a table in tempdb to store keyset. The KEYSET cursor helps to updates non key values from being made through this cursor,
but when inserts made by other users are not visible. Updates nonkey values made by other users are visible as the owner scrolls around the cursor,
but updates key values made by other users are not visible.

3)Here are some instruction when creating a store procedure to increase speed
ans: Here are the some good tips when creating a store procedure

(1)Always use ANSI92 syntax avoid to use the old syntax.
(2)Use SQL keyword in capital letters to increase readability.

(3)Use few possible variables to increase cache memory.
(4)Try to avoid dynamic queries if we are not using dynamic query there is no recompilation of execution plan but on the other side
if we are using dynamic query every time we need recompile of plan.

(5)Use SET NOCOUNT ON this will helps us to get number of row effected without network traffic.
(6)To avoid recompilations use OPTION KEEPFIXED PLAN.

(7)In Select and Set use select to assign value to variable it is much faster than multiple set statement.
(8)Try to avoid IN. IN counts Null values so use EXISTA there. EXISTS which return only boolean value and IN return heavier result than EXISTS.

(9)In CAST and CONVERT always try to use CAST it is ASNI92 standard.Use convert in case of datetime.
(10)Avoid Distinct and Order by clause.These class needs extra space.

(11)Avoid cursor so use while loop for that and temparory tables.
(12)Avoid to use * in select statement.

(13)Avoid correlated sub queries.
(14)Avoid select * into for large tables it locks the system objects.

(15)Avoid temporary tables because it will recompile the procedure.

ans: In SQL 2005 and earlier there was a limitation of 250 indexes per table, one clustered and 249 non-clustered. In SQL 2008,

ans:Filtered indexes are a new feature in SQL 2008 and they allow for an index to contain only some of the rows in the table. Prior to this,
an index would always have, at the leaf level, the same number of rows as the table. With filtered indexes, an index can be based on just a subset of the rows.
When creating a filtered index, a predicate is specified as part of the index creation statement. There are several limitations on this predicate. The comparison ca
nnot reference a computed column, a column that is declared as a user-defined type, a spatial column or a hierarchyid column.
A clustered index cannot be filtered as it is the actual table.

9)What are Sparse Columns in Sql Server2008
ans:sparse column is a tool that helps to reduce amount of physical storage used in a database.
These are ordinary columns that have an optimized storage for all null values.SPARSE column are better at managing NULL and ZERO values in SQL Server.
It does not take any space in database at all.

Triggers are basically used to implement business rules.Triggers is also similar to stored procedures.
The difference is that it can be activated when data is added or edited or deleted from a table in a database.

(1)Temp Tables are created in the SQL Server TEMPDB database and therefore require more IO resources and locking.
Table Variables and Derived Tables are created in memory.

(2)Temp Tables will generally perform better for large amounts of data that can be worked on using parallelism whereas
Table Variables are best used for small amounts of data (I use a rule of thumb of 100 or less rows) where parallelism would not provide
a significant performance improvement.
(3)You cannot use a stored procedure to insert data into a Table Variable or Derived Table.
For example, the following will work: INSERT INTO #MyTempTable EXEC dbo.GetPolicies_sp whereas the following will generate an error:
INSERT INTO @MyTableVariable EXEC dbo.GetPolicies_sp.

(4)Derived Tables can only be created from a SELECT statement but can be used within an Insert, Update, or Delete statement.

An nvarchar column can store any Unicode data. A varchar column is restricted to an 8-bit codepage. Some people think that varchar should be used

With cheap disk and memory nowadays, there is really no reason to waste time mucking around with code pages anymore.

Ans :A local temporary table lives until the connection is valid or until the duration of a compound statement.

They are created using same syntax as CREATE TABLE except table name is preceded by ‘#’ sign. When table is preceded by single ‘#’ sign, it is defined as local temporary table and its scope is limited to session in which it is created.

Open one session in Query Analyzer or SSMS (Management Studio) and create a temporary table as shown below.

A global temporary table is permanently present in the database. However, the rows of the table are present until the connection is existent. Type of exception handling in .Net ?
Ans: There are three ways to handle exceptions/errors in ASP.NET:

try-catch block. This is also called Structured Exception Handling (SEH).
Error Events.
Custom Error Page.

try-catch Block
Enclose code that accesses files, databases, and so forth inside a try-catch block because access to those resources might be denied due to various reasons causing an exception. The third part of this block is finally. It is executed irrespective of the fact that an exception has been raised. Hence, use the finally block to complete the housekeeping jobs.

Using Error Events
There are three different error events in ASP.NET that can be used in conjunction with SEH so that all exceptions are handled and the user is presented with a user-friendly error message.

Page_Error: Occurs when an error occurs within the Web page. This event is in the Web form.
Global_Error: Occurs when an error occurs within the application. This event is in the Gloabl.asax file.
Application_Error: Occurs when an error occurs within the application. This event is in the Gloabl.asax file.
Methods in the Server object are used to handle the exception in the error events.

GetLastError: Gets the last exception that occurred on the server.
ClearError: Use this method to handle the exception and stop the error to trigger the subsequent error event or display the error to the user.

Using Custom Error Pages
Use custom error page to handle HTTP exceptions such as page not found, unauthorized access, and so forth. You can specify custom error pages in two places:

customErrors section of the web.config file. This setting specifies the application-wide error page to display for unhandled HTTP errors. HTTP errors are identified by the HTTP status code. Include the tag in the customErrors to display a status code-specific error page. Does not work with .htm or .html files. Set the mode attribute to "On" to view the error page locally.
errorPage attribute of the @Page directive of the Web form to display the error page for the error generated on the particular Web form.

what is IIS Metabase..

IIS metabase is the repository of the configuration values that are set in the Internet Information Server (IIS). The IIS metabase in an XML file. It may be controlled through program or manually too.

In order to edit IIS metabase entries, the user needs to have administrative rights on the system. To do this, in run window, type "inetmgr". Browse to "Local Computer" and right click it. Click on "Properties". Select the "Enable Direct Metabase Edit" check box.

Many times, due to the existence of multiple versions of .NET framework, some settings in the IIS metabase may get affected and cause your program not to run. For such scenarios, you may take a backup of the IIS metabase XML file and recover it. To create a portable backup, open run window and type "inetmgr". Unlike Session state ViewState is a property of the web controls.

Both are used to persist certain data.

Values stored in the session are available across different pages in an application.

Where as the vdata contained in a control is persisted between page's post back by using that controls ViewState property.

Today i am going to explain you or provide you a trick by using which you can check your regular expression on page.

Let consider, we want to validate number input,
Like, you have "Mobile Number" field on your page, then it require only number input,

so here you will see, if you will enter Interger in text box, it will allow you to enter otherwise it will return error message.

So lets start here,

click on Start button at left botton of your destop screen, type notepad in run and open one notepad page.

Paste below code and select filetype as "all" and save as html page.

and then click on that page and open HTML page.

getYear Date function of javascript gives alert as 111

Hello friends,

You might have encountered this issue many times while using datetimepicker on your modules.

For example, Datetimepicker is provideing you some other format of date and you want to display in some other format

or you want to add date, month or year to original date.

For example, if you are making alert of current date like below code then for date and month, you will get correct data
but for year you will wrong data.

so this you will be doing like this


var today =new Date();
alert(today);
alert(today.getMonth());
alert(today.getYear());

For today alert you will get
Mon Feb 07 2011 11:52:21 GMT+0530 (India Standard Time)

For today.getMonth() alert, you will get,
02

For today.getYear() alert you will get,
111

which is wrong, that should alert 2011,

This is because getYear method returns the year minus 1900,

Solution to this,

Instead of getYear, Please use getFullYear javascript function,
this is give you current year as 2011

This issue mostly has been seen in Mozila browser.

Problem : Whenever you make any changes in the table defination, when table is fill with data or rows,it does not allow you to delete or make any changes to table.

Solution : You might have faced this issue many times, when ever you make any changes in the table defination and you try to save changes, then you might have seen error messages as shown in below image.

So here is the steps by which you can avoid dropping of table or re-creating it again by using below steps..

Step 1. There is one option in sql server, which allow you to save your changes to table without droping it.

You just click on Tool option in top menu, See below images you can see from where you can go to tool option,

Step 2. Then click on "Option",
then you will be prompt with options Box, in that you will see left menu, in that explore "Designers" option.

After Exploring Designers option, just click on "table and database designer", you will see below screen

Step 3. In below snap, you can see the field in Red Box, just untick it, so that you can save change.

Untick - Prevent saving changes that require table re-creation

Suppose you want to use two insert statement, one by one.

You want to use, @@identity of first insert in another insert statement then this is the best method to go with.

Suppose you are doing first insert operation and some problem occure and any how you are not able to insert data in second table then there might be some database mapping issue.

so here, ROLLBACK can help you to avoid such database problem,

For example, you have used ROLLBACK in your SP, and you are doing first insert operation and if some problem occur and you are not able to insert in second table then ROLLBACk will undo your first insert operation also which will help to avoid database mapping issue.

Solution :

This blog will explain you, how you can bind Datalist control from code behind.
First you need to add Datalist control in .aspx file, you can do this by draging the control form the toolbox or you can past e the below code in .aspx file.

Manually Reset Identity Column Value in SQL Server

Problem : If you are creating any table and using an identity column to that table, then at first time, when you insert any row, then identity value will start like 1,2,3... and so on..

But if you delete all the row from the table and when you try to insert new row in same table, the identity value will start from last identity value.

For Example the last identity was 6, so after deleting all data, when you insert new row, the identity value will be 7.

So to reset the identity Column value, you can use this below code.


Syntax

DBCC CHECKIDENT ( <table name>,RESEED,<new value>)

QUERY 

DBDD CHECKIDENT ('tbl_rajesh',RESEED,1)

Explaination :
table name = Your table name should be entered here
RESEED = this is used to reset your identity value.
new value = Starting identity value

If you want to check current identity value of any table, you can use below query.


DBCC CHECKIDENT (’tablename’, NORESEED)

Explaination :
table name = Your table name should be entered here
NORESEED = This will avoid RESEED function.

Issue: unterminated string literal

Solution :

Whenever, you use textarea control in your html code, and you try to fetch the textarea data using jquery, you will encounter this 'unterminated string literal' issue.

Main reason of this issue is, while entering text in textarea control, if you press enter for new line, thus newline character is created, which make this issue to happen.

In this tutorail, I will teach you how to make crystal report in vb.net.

Please follow the Steps to Create Crystal Report in VB.NET,

Step 1: Create one vb.net project in visual studio.

Step 2: what we need to create simple crystal report ?
a.Dataset file (.xsd)
b.Crystal Report (.rpt)
c.One window form (.vb)

Step 3: Right click on project name in visual studio and click on add to add new items.

Step 4: Select Dataset from the list from Add New Item displayed box.
Name it as ReportDS as shown in Video.
Then you will be prompt with gray screen, it shows you have created dataset properly.
Drag Table from the Server explorer and drop it on dataset gray screen.

Step 5: Now its time to insert report file (.rtp), right click on project name in visual studio and click on add to add new items.

Step 6: Select CrystalReport from the list from Add new item displayed box.
Name it as Crystalreport1 as shown in video.
Then you will be prompt with the Crystal Reports Gallery,
Just click on "OK", then another page "Standard Report creation Wizard" will be prompted.
Then you need to select the database you created, in step 4.
For that click on ADO.NET Dataset and select you dataset from the list.as shown in video.
Then you will be prompted with table with fields, select the fields you require to show in report.
Then click on finish, and you have done.

Step 7: Now you need to add from to show this report in it. To do that, just add new form (.vb), and drag the Reportviewer form the data section in tool box.

Step 8: Take one button in that from, so that, when you click on that button, the report show appear.

Step 9: Then on click event of that button, paste this code below.

Here, i have find the folder path using Server.MapPath, then stored all the file in the array, i have named it imglist.

Then i have used forloop to get all the files name one by one and delete it,
Here i have taken DateTime.Now.AddMinutes, because if the file is added just before 3 minutes from the current time, then it should not be delete, you can change the time according to your need.

SomeTimes after formating your computer, when you install sql server 2008.

When you try to connect your database and click on database menu to see the list of database, you will find windows alert showing you this below error.

Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio

Failed to retrieve data for this request. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Sdk.Sfc)

Additional information:

An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQl statement or batch.(Microsoft.SqlServer.COnnectionInfo)

The server principal "DatabaseName" is not able to access the database "Birdiethis" under the current security context. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error:916)

Please read below to find, how to solve this problem,

There is nothing to worry about, mostly user use to uninstall sqlserver software and install it again. then also they feel same problem.

Follow this steps :

Step 1: Open your sql server 2008,connect to database.

Step 2: click on view option for the top menu panel,then click to Object Explorer Details,

Step 3: You will see a panel will open at the right hand side,

Step 4: Right click on the header part of that panel, and unselect all option, as shown in the image,

Step 5: This will solve that issue, and you can use sql server 2008 without any error.

you can do this by adding one line code in your HTML code.

you just have to put meta tags in <head> part of your html code.

Solution :

Mostly User dont type "www" before our domain name, either they are searching in google or directly into address bar of browser.

for example, user type "indianic.com" in address bar of browser.

then the url of our website looks like this "http://indianic.com", this really looks odd.

what if our URL automatically redirect to http://www.indianic.com, Yes now its look nice and seo friendly.

This is possible, by adding just below code in your page load event in c#.

For other languages developer, need not need to worry, this is simple "if condition", you can easlily covert it into your language.

There are two methods, you can assign variable at one place and call it from through out the website.

The first is, Declare the variable in web.config and call it in any aspx.cs page and the second is, Declare the variable in global.asax and call it in any aspx.cs page.

The first one is very usefull because you can edit it directly form the FTP editor.

There is no perticular function like Trim in SQL server but you can achieve Trim like functionality by doing Left Trim and Right Trim, to get complete trimed Text.

LTRIM is used to : Trim Text form left hand side or in other word remove space form left hand side.
RTRIM is used to : Trim Text from Right hand side or in other word remove space form Right hand side.

I read on many forums about how we can open Google Adsense Ads in new window. This is not possible directly through Adsense but if you use Google Ad manager you can easily achieve to Open Google Adsense in new Window safely.

Import your Adsense Code into Google Ad manager and have the option in Google Ad manager to open urls in new Window. Now replace your existing Adsense code with the Google Ad Manager code and you would see that your Adsense Ads now Open in a new Window. Do not try seeing it on your own ads units but you can verify it. If you see a special icon near the bottom left of your ad units they would open in new window like in the figure below.

This should be pretty safe as both AdManager and Adsense are Google product and well integrated with each other.

1) Run VS.NET Click on "Start->Programs->VS.NET->VS.NET".
2) Create a new ASP.NET WebSite Click the menu "File->New->Project" In the "New Project" Dialog select the language of your choice. For now lets just select "Visual C# Projects" in the Project Types treeview and select "ASP.NET Web Application" in the Templates list. Specify a name for it. The dialog should look like the following image. Click OK.
3) Add the WebChart control to the toolbox NOTE : Before moving ahead, you will need to download WebChart.dll. Download This is an optional step, but it makes life easier if you plan on using the control on more than one project, since it will no longer require you to add references, nor copy the control, etc. While in the WebForms Designer. Select the option menu "View->Toolbox". Right click on it and select the option Customize Toolbox. Once in the "Customize Toolbox" Dialog, select the “.NET Framework Components” Tab. Click the Browse button. And look for the file WebChart.dll. Click Ok. The dialog should look as follows. Click Ok.
4) Add a Chart to the WebForm To Add a Chart to the WebForm, you can just Drag a Chart control (added in the previous step to the toolbox, look for the small chart glyph) .
5) Add some formatting to the chart You can add easily formatting to your chart by right clicking on it and selecting the option “Auto format…” or from the Property Grid.
6) Add a Chart to the control You can add the charts either from code or from design time. It is easier to do in design time, since doing this way, you can actually get a WYSIWYG version of the control without even having to run it. To add a chart in Design Time, just double click the Charts… Property in the Property Window. This will launch the Chart Editor, where you can add any type of Chart (LineChart, ColumnChart, etc) by choosing the drop down button at the bottom of the dialog and configure all their properties. So for now, Add a LineChart and assign it a Name of “MyChart”, and click Ok.
7) Add code to add points and render the chart Double click on the Designer to take you to the Page_Load event of your page. Add a using statement at the top of the page code to avoid writing the namespace in all your declarations. `using System; using System.Collections; // Other namespaces... using WebChart;` Now add some code to add the points to the chart. All points in the Chart are represented with the ChartPointclass. So in the code below we first grab a reference to the Chart already in the control (since it was added in design time), and then use its Data property to add the Points. Note that you need to cast the chart to the correct type of chart, since it returns a Chart class that is the base class for all charts. At the end we call RedrawChart method that creates the file. THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT, every time you want the control to redraw the chart, you need to explicitly call this method, if you fail to do so, it will not create the image file. `private void Page_Load(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { LineChart chart =(LineChart)ChartControl1.Charts.FindChart("MyChart"); chart.Data.Add( new ChartPoint("Jan",10) ); chart.Data.Add( new ChartPoint("Feb", 20) ); chart.Data.Add( new ChartPoint("Mar",30) ); ChartControl1.RedrawChart();` If you don’t add the charts in design time you can also add them by code like this: `private void Page_Load(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { LineChart chart = new LineChart(); chart.Data.Add( new ChartPoint("Jan", 10) ); chart.Data.Add( new ChartPoint("Feb", 20) ); chart.Data.Add( new ChartPoint("Mar", 30) ); ChartControl1.Charts.Add(chart); ChartControl1.RedrawChart();` Notice that you will need to add it to the Charts collection of the control.
8) Compile and Run the page.

Problem with declaring usercontrols in all page

This works fine, but suppose you have so many user control and you are using them in all pages by simply dragging and dropping .

so if at some time ,you have changed the path of user control .

then you need to change the path of user control in all pages in which you have used user control.

Solution to the problem discussed above

The above situation might not have occurred if you have registered the user control in web.congif file.

Instead of declaring and duplicating in all pages, its better to declare once in web.config file and use as many time you want to use in your page.

Differenc between "And" and "AndAlso" Operator in Asp.Net

The 'And' operator evaluate both side, where 'AndAlso' only evaluate the right side if the left side is true.

See below examples to find difference between And and AndAlso.

Example 1:


If mystring IsNot Nothing And mystring.Contains("Rajesh") Then
  ' And operator evaluate both side
End If

This throws an exception if mystring = Nothing

If mystring IsNot Nothing AndAlso mystring.Contains("Rajesh") Then
  ' AndAlso only evaluate the right side if the left side is true
End If

This will not throws an exception.

Please see second example to make you more clear to find difference between And and AndAlso,

The "And" operator will check all conditions in the statement before continuing, whereas the Andalso operator will stop if it knows the condition is false.

Example 2:

if x = 8 And y = 9

Checks if x is equal to 8, and if y is equal to 9, then continues if both are true.

if x = 8 Andalso y = 9

Checks if x is equal to 8. If it's not, it doesn't check if y is 9, because it knows that the condition is false already.

Explaination of flow of Authorize.net Payment Gateway

In this post, I have explained you step by step implementation of authorize.net payment gateway integration in your website and explained you what happen behind the screen in payment gateway processing.

Step 1: The merchant submits a credit card transaction to the Authorize.Net Payment
Gateway on behalf of a customer via secure Web site connection, retail store, MOTO
center or wireless device.

Step 2: Authorize.Net receives the secure transaction information and passes it via a secure connection to the Merchant Bank's Processor.

Step 3: The Merchant Bank's Processor submits the transaction to the Credit Card Network (a system of financial entities that communicate to manage the processing, clearing, and settlement of credit card transactions).

Step 4: The Credit Card Network routes the transaction to the Customer's Credit Card Issuing Bank

Step 5: The Customer's Credit Card Issuing Bank approves or declines the transaction based on the customer's available funds and passes the transaction results back to the Credit Card Network.

Step 6: The Credit Card Network relays the transaction results to the Merchant Bank's Processor.

Step 7: The Merchant Bank's Processor relays the transaction results to Authorize.Net.

Step 8: Authorize.Net stores the transaction results and sends them to the customer and/or the merchant. This step completes the authorization process – all in about three seconds or less!

Step 9: The Customer's Credit Card Issuing Bank sends the appropriate funds for the transaction to the Credit Card Network, which passes the funds to the Merchant's Bank. The bank then deposits the funds into the merchant's bank account. This step is known as the settlement process and typically the transaction funds are deposited into your primary bank account within two to four business days.

Count Number Of Stored Procedures, Views, Tables and Functions using Query

Sometimes you may need to count number of table in your database and if your database have hundreds of table then it is almost impossible to count tables in your database.

So here is the small query, using which you can count Stored procedure you have used ,table you have made, views you may have created.
